Chaos Update

Things are FINALLY going well with my boy.  We have had some really bad days that’s brought me down in the past week but he’s been doing better since Friday and much closer to Chaos in the past few days than he’s been since his hospital visit just over 2 weeks ago.  I’m finding he’s not a fan of the new dog food, so we’re working through that but the tail wag is back and he’s looking more like himself.

He has some issues with his right back leg for a few years (I think it’s arthritis) that was doing well on Aspirin that the Prednisone has complicated (and they asked to stop the Aspirin) so I’m hoping the vet can give something that will help with that.

Long road still but he’s doing the best he’s done in a while at this point. :)

Chaos

2010-03-01-chaosSpent a long few days and emotional roller coaster at the vet’s Thursday that has finally come to a hopeful end.  The greatest dog I’ve ever had, Chaos, had some swelling in his stomach. They said he had a muffled heart beat and arrhythmia. X-rays showed he was retaining liquid around the stomach and after a sample and, based on color, he the thought it was his heart and common with right ventricular failure.

I took him to the MedVet hospital along with the x-rays and they gave hope that it could be something with the liver as well as the best prognosis but also the minimal prospect of inflammatory bowel disease but he did say his heart appeared normal in size with no liquid around it, and the rest of the liquid could cause pressure resulting in the other things so that was a bit of a boost.

NextGEN Gallery

I installed NextGEN Gallery for WordPress and so far I like it.  Easy to install, add an album and photos to the album.  Throw in the fact that I can put a slideshow and random image on the right and in seconds, is awesome!  My first had to be my dogs, of course! ;)
